Today, I'm a 19 year old college student in NYC, it's Friday night and I'm sitting alone on my bed in my dorm room, talking to my mother on facebook chat. Then she stopped responding. Turns out even my mother has better things to do on Friday night. FML

I'm a 19 year old college student at /home/ (as in, parents' house) on a Friday night. Time to continue on to the next mod fail.

I'm a 20 year old college student to, and I'm here not doing my Chemistry homework. Beside, (at the risk of sounding like a nerd) shouldn't you be studying? I know, "you need a social life!" "don't be such a nerd" "lolfag!". Then how about instead of mopping on the internet, he does some ACADEMIC related activities.

BeepBoop, I'm 17 and I think you sound like an ass. Op, make plans. If you don't have friends then join a church group or a club or go out by yourself and see a movie. There are tons of clubs to join on campus, I am sure. So instead of moping around do some studying or make plans. People don't always have to call you. We aren't here for your enjoyment oh wise one.

I'm also a 19 year old student, and I haven't gone out on a Friday in... um... months. Perhaps it's something to do with the fact that I'm a crazy person who decided to do Medicine and subsequently has no life other than studystudystudy :S But yeah - I know how you feel :(

Dude, you're in NYC! If you're in Manhattan/Harlem you have no excuse. Hop on the subway and head to Times Square, 5th Ave., somewhere!

you dont have to have friends to go to parties in college. get out there, go to some parties, and make some friends! you have to be proactive about it or youre just going to be sitting at home every friday night. you have classes.. so talk to people in your classes. join a study group! its not that hard everyone in college wants friends they'll probably be willing to talk to you.

Partying all the time is overrated. I only do it occasionally, since, oh yeah, I have schoolwork to do and a job. If you're truly bored, either go out and find something to do (seriously, even taking a walk is fun) or get started on whatever work you have to do for the weekend.

Hey guys stop being a douche. If the guy doesn't want to go out then he doesn't have too. When I was living on campus I spent many a fridays in the dorm. I don't see the need to go party every week. It's get tired.

man believe it or not, i just made an account to say something over here, first of all i just moved to Toronto a while back and i was spending weekends by myself doing nothing at all, and i'm not even that type of a guy... it was just a little hard to make friends that I would enjoy hanging out with, things will get better, hang in there buddy and for all the people talking about living in the city and all, I think it's more sad to go out in the city by yourself and wonder around while doing nothing

actually come to think about it, living in the dorms you basically meet everyone anyways without even trying, so you're prob really weird or people hate something about you for not hanging out.... shame on you for not getting mad pussy
