Today, my boyfriend of two years took me out to breakfast. So we were eating and he kept on staring at me like he was thinking of something really important. I thought he was going to say "I Love You". So I told him to "say it already". Turns out he was thinking of a way to dump me. FML

I agree, your life sucks (17834)
You totally deserved it (2624)

first

One of the few times I agree that this is an FYL, but next time...don't get your hopes up by "thinking he was gonna say "I love you"".

#14 - 11/06/2009 at 5:50pm - Reyo

YDI for being demanding.

#20 - 11/06/2009 at 6:33pm - ortega

2 years and he hadn't said it already? Wow. No wonder he dumped you if he wasn't feeling it after 2 years.

#40 - 11/07/2009 at 12:19am - americayay

Agreed. :/

#46 - 11/07/2009 at 2:52pm - Cormamin

whuh oh, that sucks... I have nothing else to say

#2 - 11/06/2009 at 5:19pm - pcakewafflebacon

OP is first. You should of dumped him before he could dump you. Just to feel better.

#3 - 11/06/2009 at 5:19pm - fatherpunk

Of you ever dumped someone before? It's not easy. I'm ofing a problem figuring out how to break up with my girlfriend of 1 year without completely devastating her, myself. If you of a way to do it, let me know what it is. I don't of a clue. The word is "HAVE" Learn English.

#51 - 11/09/2009 at 3:38pm - phatdaddy

Your boyfriend of two years had never said I love you before (which is what it seems from the way you said it)? I think you should have been expecting a break up...either he really doesn't want to be with you or he has commitment issues...

#4 - 11/06/2009 at 5:21pm - MiddleChild08

that's what I was thinking. If it takes the guy 2 years and he hasn't said it, how could she not expect him to break up. guess he just wasnt feeling it, pity he took so long to decide tho. sorry OP, that sucks.

#27 - 11/06/2009 at 7:53pm - AngelRaven89

Exactly, I'm all for taking your time but after two years, he obviously wasn't commited. I'm sorry :(

#34 - 11/06/2009 at 10:54pm - Sun_Kissed18

I was going with I thought he had to poop.

#5 - 11/06/2009 at 5:21pm - cheapsheep

i don't advocate saying i love you like. a month into your relationship...but if you've been dating for two years and haven't established that you're in love yet...what exactly have you been doing this whole time?

#6 - 11/06/2009 at 5:22pm - ovrwhlmdbystupid

I'm with you on this one. Two years and no "I love you?" Absurd. But more to the point: Who paid for breakfast?

#9 - 11/06/2009 at 5:29pm - perdix

That suuucks... FYL and I agree with #3

#7 - 11/06/2009 at 5:24pm - chellinha93

Its not really an FYL... Are people not allowed to dump one another or something? Suck it up and move along.

#8 - 11/06/2009 at 5:26pm - splydoms

That sort of thing happens every day, you're not the only one who has ever gotten dumped. Two years is a long time you had it coming

#12 - 11/06/2009 at 5:36pm - chingchongbinbin

Two years and he'd never told you he loved you? Sounds like you needed to go to Egypt and get him blown up by Megatron.

#10 - 11/06/2009 at 5:30pm - gargoyle666

Baha! Nice piece-o-crap movie reference :)

#15 - 11/06/2009 at 5:54pm - graciedacie

why were you even together so long if he hadn't even told you he loved you yet? what a waste of time!

#11 - 11/06/2009 at 5:34pm - KoRnchick

Ahaha, sucks for you!

#13 - 11/06/2009 at 5:46pm - Bloodknight

It makes me laugh that anyone thinks these are real. I guarantee the majority of the FML's on this site are made up. But that doesn't matter. They make me giggle :) And if this did happen (pfft, yeah) 2 years and no I love you? Um, yeah.

#16 - 11/06/2009 at 6:03pm - DanTheBib

You should've dumped him looooong ago, I mean come on he never said "I love you" to you in those two years, that should've gave you some clue that he eventually was going to dump you..!

#17 - 11/06/2009 at 6:04pm - caligirl805

you all have this completely backwards. the problem was not that he never said i love you after two years, the real problem is that he continually goes around "staring" at people... just saying...

#18 - 11/06/2009 at 6:28pm - hatemonkey

Looks like you were expecting the Rooty Tooty Fresh & Fruity, but he gave you the Grand Slam.

#19 - 11/06/2009 at 6:28pm - perdix

Win

#33 - 11/06/2009 at 10:51pm - Canteloupe

Should've been like " I was going to dump you anyway..." Extra points is it's in ghetto "I iz waz gonna like dumps youuu anywayz bitch..." hehehehe

#22 - 11/06/2009 at 6:54pm - scateice

he broke up with you. oh, well. happens all the time. yeah, sure. i'd be upset, too, but a break up as simple as that is not worth f***ing you're life. find some other guy that might actually be better that someone who bugs you by just staring.

#23 - 11/06/2009 at 6:54pm - ffmylife

I actually feel very sorry for you. I can understand why it would hurt to be dumped by someone after 2 years, and why it would feel very much like a "FML" situation. But I'm sure the pain will subside. My mom always told me, "Things get worse before they get better."

#24 - 11/06/2009 at 7:12pm - AmazingCatGirl

I see why he dumped you.

#26 - 11/06/2009 at 7:48pm - Shadic

He probably met a stripper recently and wants to hook up with her, but he couldn't tell you. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. And it sounds like your boyfriend's staying in Vegas. (I assume you live in Vegas because that's where 97% of of the population of Nevada lives.)

#28 - 11/06/2009 at 8:25pm - FerrariCake

While you shouldn't have been that presumptuous, there were probably plenty of signs that could've clued you into his actual intent. YDI, and yet FYL. FYL, and yet YDI. Meh, there's always a chance of these things in relationships anyway.

#30 - 11/06/2009 at 9:08pm - blastvortex

Wow... did you really say 'say it already' like it sounds?

#31 - 11/06/2009 at 9:49pm - BritishHobo

#32 - 11/06/2009 at 10:49pm - Zazu7711

What an asshole!!

#35 - 11/06/2009 at 11:02pm - kravitzz1990

if after two years he still hasnt said i love you, u really should have seen this coming!!!! :S

#36 - 11/06/2009 at 11:04pm - kravitzz1990

Next time someone dumps you maybe they can send a nice text so you can see if there better way to get let down.

#37 - 11/06/2009 at 11:35pm - CallMeHush

middlechild08 took the words right out of my mouth

#38 - 11/07/2009 at 12:06am - couny343

Sorry he dumped you. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. He ruined that.

#39 - 11/07/2009 at 12:09am - Flutist

After two years he never once told you that he loved you? Man sounds pretty horrible. I'd just forget the guy and just move on to someone else.

#41 - 11/07/2009 at 12:56am - NorfolkDude

is everyone missing the point here? the guy was genuinely honest with her and had the ball to do it in her person and he actually took her to breakfast. the two year no I love you thing us bad though..

#42 - 11/07/2009 at 1:13am - kile88

i had the same thing happen to me ! fuckin assholes

#43 - 11/07/2009 at 2:14am - CristianMtz02

wait... 2 years and he hasn't said "I love you"? um. you're kind of an idiot for staying with him that long if that's the case.

#44 - 11/07/2009 at 2:42am - kindness

I feel for you OP :< Same happened me earlier in the week, but hey, just read/watch 'he's just not that into you' ! There's probably something in there about waiting too long for a guy to say I love you...

#45 - 11/07/2009 at 8:14am - FarFromPerfect

poor girl, so that means your single now... How you doin?

#47 - 11/08/2009 at 6:08am - uscfan89

#48 - 11/08/2009 at 1:17pm - notsoordinary

Two years and he hadn't said I love you? YDI BIG TIME.

#49 - 11/08/2009 at 5:27pm - hurricanehalie

at least he didn't text u, and isn't afriad to face u, and at least he didn't want to break u.

#50 - 11/08/2009 at 9:47pm - lullabyy

If you haven't heard the L word after 2 years, face it you're not going to.
